WASHINGTON-The FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau temporarily has suspended the construction timetable for incumbent wide-area 800 MHz specialized mobile radio licensees.
The decision was in reaction to a recent ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that told the Federal Communications Commission to further analyze a previous decision to adopt construction requirements for incumbents that were different than the construction requirements for economic area 800 MHz SMR licensees.
The construction timetable will be suspended until the FCC decides on the remand in the Fresno Mobile Radio Inc. vs. FCC case.
