ATLANTA-Wynd Communications Inc. announced an exclusive strategic alliance with the American Automobile Association to deliver national wireless roadside assistance service to deaf and hard of hearing members.
With the service, deaf or hard of hearing motorists no longer need access to a wireline teletype machine to call for roadside assistance, said Wynd. The company’s WyndTell Service operates on the Inter@ctive 950 pager from Research in Motion Ltd. and uses BellSouth Wireless Data L.P.’s packet data network.
AAA is developing a system that can accept text messages sent to it from the WyndTell system, whereas previously it could not.
