SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-Superconductor Technologies Inc. received an initial purchase order for 25 of its SuperFilter Systems from United States Cellular Corp. of Chicago, said STI.
The SuperFilter System is a front-end filter and amplifier system used in wireless base stations to enhance performance. The enhancements include extending the base station’s range, lowering dropped calls, enabling otherwise difficult handoffs and improving call quality.
U.S. Cellular manages systems in 145 markets, serving more than 2 million customers, said STI.
