INDIANAPOLIS-Brightpoint Inc. said it has entered into an agreement with Tess S.A. of Brazil to distribute mobile phone prepaid cards.
The company also announced its Brazilian logistics services distribution subsidiary, Brightpoint do Brasil Ltda., completed the acquisition of all the common shares of Cellular Services S.A., a company controlled by Andre Cunha, who now is the president of Brightpoint do Brasil.
Tess holds the B-band mobile communications license in Brazil within area 2, which includes the interior and coast of the state of Sao Paulo, excluding the city of Sao Paulo. Tess’ coverage area includes 37 cities and approximately 3 million people, said Brightpoint.
In addition to its distribution business, Brightpoint do Brasil also provides warranty repair service for Nokia Corp., Ericsson Inc. and Motorola Inc., said the company.
