PRINCETON, N.J.-Nettech Systems Inc. announced an expansion plan that included establishing
a Professional Services consulting division to help software developers deploy wireless data solutions and opening
three regional sales offices across the country.
“Over the past year, we have seen tremendous growth in the
wireless data industry,” said Boris Fridman, Nettech chief executive officer. “In 1998, we saw not only an
increase in the development of wireless applications, but also growing interest from a wider range of software
developers that serve the enterprise computing marketplace.”
Nettech said the Professional Services unit will
help its more than 500 software developer customers with wireless development training, developing mobile client
applications or screens, integrating Nettech middleware with wireless services and host applications to speed
deployment and porting Nettech products to new platforms and networks.
“We are not, nor do we seek to be a
system integration company,” clarified Fridman. “Our mission is enabling the development of wireless
applications.”
For instance, Nettech may write the server agent needed to communicate between its RFexpress
middleware and a mobile application developed by another company.
“Wireless integration is new to many of
the software developers we partner with,” said Bob Foley, a recent addition to Nettech who was chosen to lead
the new unit as vice president of the Professional Services division. Foley formerly was director of professional
services for DSET Corp.
The new regional sales offices were opened in Boston, Phoenix and Los Angeles. Lise
Lambert was named vice president of sales to lead that operation.
