BAM 4Q REVENUES FUELED BY FLAT-RATE PLAN

BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Bell Atlantic Mobile said its strong fourth-quarter growth was fueled
largely by the popularity of its digital service and SingleRate price plans.

In September, the company launched
SingleRate USA and SingleRate East, pricing plans with no roaming or long-distance charges.

The company said it
recorded 302,000 net customer additions in the fourth quarter, 10,000 more than the same quarter last year.

The
increase in digital subscribers meant increased revenues as well. Bell Atlantic Mobile said its revenues for fourth
quarter 1998 grew 13 percent from last year’s total of $820 million to $920 million.
