QUALCOMM CHIP ENHANCES FUNCTIONS

SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. introduced its UD3000 chip, which will provide greater transmit
functionality and enhanced performance of its 3000-generation chipset for an Interim Standard-95A or IS-95B Code
Division Multiple Access technology compliant handset.

The UD3000 intermediate frequency-to-radio frequency
transmit device performs all signal processing functions required between the Qualcomm IFT-3000 baseband-to-IF
processor and the power amplifier.

Qualcomm also introduced new packaging for its MSM3000 Mobile Station
Modem and IFT3000 and IFR3000 fully integrated IF chipsets. The new packaging offers manufacturers the ability to
design very small handsets and other devices, giving greater flexibility to develop differentiated products.
