PARSIPPANY, N.J.-BAP Acquisition Corp. announced it will begin operating under the name
Aquis Communications Inc., effective immediately.
The company’s original name was derived from its first
acquisition, that of Bell Atlantic Paging Inc., a deal scheduled to close soon. Last month, the company announced a
merger with Paging Partners Corp.
“The Bell Atlantic Paging and Paging Partners transactions are the models
we expect to follow as we make Aquis Communications a leading player in the telecommunication industry next year
(and) into the next century,” said John Adiletta, Aquis president and chief executive officer. “Our long-term
goal is to build a major wireless communications carrier through a rapid series of acquisitions in 1999 and beyond.>
