SANTA MONICA, Calif.-After 16 rounds of bidding, Radiodigital was awarded one regional
and the only nationwide 220 MHz license in Mexico, according to Angellcom.
Mexico’s wireless bureau, Cofetel,
agreed to auction one nationwide and 16 regional 220 MHz licenses covering all of Mexico following three years of
lobbying by former Radiodigital 220 executive Marc Angell.
Radiodigital and Sophia Communications partnered
for the auction, and under the terms of the their agreement, Sophia now controls the operations of Radiodigital, with the
founders of the company remaining on the board of the directors.
