SAN DIEGO-Qualcomm Inc. said it signed a contract with Mauritius Telecom to supply and install a cdmaOne wireless local loop network. The network, using Interim Standard-95 Code Division Multiple Access technology, initially is expected to add 50,000 subscribers nationwide to Mauritius Telecom’s modern wireline network, which already supports 240,000 direct exchange lines. Qualcomm said it will provide 800 MHz QCell base stations, QCore switching and base station controller equipment and WLL telephones.
