DAPHNE, Ala.-Communitronics of America Inc. announced it received Federal Communications Commission approval to provide paging services at 152.630 MHz in Mobile, Ala.

The licensed coverage area covers up to 16 million pops. Communitronics is building a new tower and transmitting station to begin offering service in the area. The company, which owns Communitronics Inc. and Cresent Paging Inc., operates paging, voice messaging, specialized mobile radio and cellular businesses in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and the Florida panhandle.

Communitronics President David Pressler said the company currently offers numeric display, tone and voice paging, but plans to offer alphanumeric and Internet-based e-mail paging next year.
