CUPERTINO, Calif.-DSP Communications Inc. introduced a single-chip Personal Digital Cellular solution, called PDChip d5311E.
The PDC chip’s architecture is based on Texas Instruments Inc.’s TMS320C54x DSP core, which combines a DSP core and digital and analog functions on one chip. DSP said the chip offers low-power consumption and is low in cost.
“The new PDChip is the first single-chip solution for the Japanese PDC standard that integrates not only a core DSP with logic circuits, but also the analog circuits required for baseband processing,” said Josepho Perl, president and chief executive officer of DSP.
