STOCKHOLM, Sweden-Technor International Inc. subsidiary, CellPoint Systems AB, agreed to allow French Global System for Mobile operator France Telecom Mobiles to test and evaluate its GSM positioning technology for the French market.
To date, the technology has been used only in Sweden and South Africa, said Technor. According to the agreement, CellPoint will provide France Telecom with the hardware and software needed to extend the CellPoint System to the French telecom network. In return, France Telecom will provide CellPoint with the geographic information needed to conduct the tests, which are set to begin before winter.
