NEW YORK-Price Communications Corp. said it added 17,039 net new wireless subscribers during the third quarter, compared with 10,760 new subscribers during the same quarter last year.
The company said its total subscriber base reached 364,189 at the end of the quarter.
“We have now achieved an 11 percent penetration for our entire company,” said Robert Price, president of the company. “We believe rural areas, properly built out and marketed, can achieve high penetration and strong cash flow.
“The performance and improving technology of cellular, plus the slow development of other wireless technologies, leads us to believe that estimates of cellular penetration in rural markets such as ours will be significantly exceeded by actual results,” continued Price.
