SAN FRANCISCO-Pacific Bell Mobile Services, the wireless subsidiary of Pacific Telesis Group, announced it will conduct business as Pacific Bell Wireless and Nevada Bell Mobile Services will use the name Nevada Bell Wireless beginning Oct. 1.
“The names Pacific Bell Wireless and Nevada Bell Wireless better reflect our business,” said Bob Shaner, president and chief executive officer of Pacific Bell Wireless. “Today, the word `mobile’ refers more to car phones.”
Pacific Bell Wireless, which is a subsidiary of SBC Communications Inc., also announced it added its 500,000th subscriber in less than 20 months.
