BETHESDA, Md.-Sybase Inc. announced the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau began implementing the Universal Licensing System to make filing for wireless licenses easier.
The ULS, an integrated information system developed in partnership with FCC staff, uses Sybase’s enterprise data management tools, including Adaptive Server Enterprise and Adaptive Server IQ.
“The ULS is simply a complete change and redesign of the wireless bureau’s entire licensing theory and process,” said FCC Chairman William Kennard in recent testimony before the Senate. “It will directly affect the literally millions of wireless licensees, applicants and the public who need access to our wireless data.”
