JACKSON, Miss.-SkyTel Communications Inc. announced it has begun a new advertising campaign touting its guaranteed messaging service, SkyWord Plus, and at the same time is introducing the new AccessLink II two-way pager from Glenayre Technologies Inc.’s Wireless Access Group.
The new campaign targets nationwide travelers, hyping the new device’s smaller size and increased functionality. Additionally, SkyTel is promoting its caller ID service. “Why settle for just a telephone number when you can get a message?” asked John Stupka, SkyTel president and chief executive.
As part of the promotion, SkyTel is advertising in print and radio media in key travel hubs such as New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta. SkyTel is pricing AccessLink II at $200.
