PAOLI, Pa.-Orga Card Systems Inc. was chosen by Iowa Wireless Services L.P. to be the exclusive provider of Global System for Mobile communications smart cards for its personal communications services launch this fall.
Orga plans to supply its most advanced 16K dual-mode subscriber identity module cards to IWS, as well as its OTA Express Gateway Systems, which will allow IWS to update and add functionality to the SIMs without physical access to the subscribers’ cards, the companies said. IWS, based in Des Moines, Iowa, has licenses to provide PCS service in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The coverage area has a population of 2.3 million.
