SUNNYVALE, Calif.-Conductus Inc. was awarded a contract to develop low-loss tunable microwave devices for applications in wireless and satellite communications, said the company.
The contract, which is valued at $1.67 million over two years, includes an option for a two-year continuation of the program for an additional $2.2 million.
Conductus said it will team with Space Systems Loral to develop the technology necessary for a broad range of advanced wireless products both for terrestrial commercial applications as well as military and space-based applications. The company will work to develop tunable filters using thin-film tunable-dielectric materials and high-temperature superconductor filter technology, which Conductus uses to produce filters for its ClearSite receiver subsystems.
