DALLAS-Paging Network Inc. said the FBI arrested a San Diego teenager on charges of fraudulently creating unauthorized voice mail boxes and paging accounts on PageNet’s system.

PageNet’s Systems Integrity Group had conducted an investigation of its own for several months on Kenneth San Nicolas, 18, which it supplied to the FBI and led to the arrest, the company said. The investigation revolved around abnormal calling patterns, monitoring San Nicolas’ activity on PageNet’s system for more than nine months.

According to PageNet, San Nicolas’ alleged actions inflicted more than $1 million in telecom costs on PageNet.
