MARLBOROUGH, Mass.-Cerulean Technology introduced a new Year-2000 compliant version of its PacketCluster software for mobile public-safety information systems.
PacketCluster 4.20 products-PacketCluster Patrol for law enforcement and PacketCluster Rescue for fire service agencies-feature support for more wireless communications infrastructures, new information collection capabilities and an enhanced application programming interface for easier integration with other information systems, said Cerulean.
Improved server technology also makes the software scalable and a more versatile solution for public-safety agencies of varying sizes. The enhanced API-CloudServer and ClusterLink-simultaneously integrates a wide range of public-safety record systems from the same server and allows multiple jurisdictions to operate separate PacketCluster servers as though they were a single node, Cerulean said.
This enables several jurisdictions to share the cost of one PacketCluster server that now can support a separate computer-aided dispatch system for each agency, added the company.
