FORT LEE, N.J.-TSR Wireless L.L.C. announced it will use Glenayre Technologies Inc.’s paging technology to build out several major markets during the next two years.
TSR has ordered more than 3,000 C2000 controlled transmitters and multiple GL3000 switches from Glenayre for its upcoming FLEX buildout of markets acquired through American Paging Inc. and the continued expansion of existing TSR Wireless markets across the nation.
Phase one of TSR Wireless’ buildout plan includes completing a statewide system in Florida by August. Phase two will involve TSR testing ReFLEX 25 two-way technology during the first quarter of 1999. Upon completion of phase two, TSR Wireless said it will have the most comprehensive wide-area two-way system in Florida.
TSR said it is exploring two-way paging applications in addition to telemetry and other specialized uses of its ReFLEX 25 system.
“We are currently looking to partner with other industries offering a highly reliable low-cost [radio-frequency] data delivery network,” said Leonardo DiSavino, co-chairman of TSR Wireless.
