CHATHAM EXPANDS, OPENS IN SAO PAULO

DALLAS-Chatham Technologies Inc., a Dallas-based manufacturer of custom enclosures for sale to original equipment manufacturers in the communications and electronic equipment business, opened a regional office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The new facility will serve as the base of Chatham’s South American business development activities, which includes supplying product design and equipment and value-added services to several South American telecommunications manufacturers.

“Our entry into the Brazilian market is consistent with our strategy to provide seamless global capabilities to our customers,” said B. William Bonnivier, president and chief executive officer of Chatham. “Our Sao Paulo office allows us to broaden our vertical integration and expand our global presence significantly.

Chatham Technologies was formed in August through the simultaneous acquisition of seven U.S.-based electronic enclosures companies. Its expansion has included three significant acquisitions this year.

Most recently, Chatham announced it signed an agreement to acquire Swedform Metall AB, a Swedish integrated electronic enclosure manufacturer, from Mats and Sten Carlsson, who will continue in their roles as executives of the company and will join Chatham’s executive operations board. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
