Ameritech Cellular confirmed the company settled a lawsuit with Chicago-area dealers DCI Integrated Computer Systems and Infinity Wireless Communications Inc.
Neither party would disclose details of the settlement.
The lawsuit claimed Ameritech encouraged dealers to open dealerships and expand their business and then forced them out of business or forced them to share customers with the company’s corporate stores.
Larry Drury, attorney for the plaintiff, said the case was in the middle of injunction hearings and had not yet gone to trial when a settlement was reached.
