DALLAS-PageMart Wireless Inc. announced it is repositioning its strategic alliances business unit to better prepare for a second-quarter launch of its ReFLEX 25 narrowband personal communications services network. As part of the change, the unit has been renamed the Carrier Services Division.
The Carrier Services Division will help support bundling and integration of advanced messaging options that telecom carriers provide to their customers along with other wireless messaging services, the company said. PageMart has alliances with several national telecom companies that provide wireless messaging options to customers via PageMart’s network.
Doug Glen, president of the division, said he will continue to seek further alliances with more carriers. The division also will look to form alliances targeted at nontraditional uses for messaging technology. “Expanding the strategic alliances business unit into the Carrier Services Division allows us to strengthen our current relationships, as well as position PageMart as a broader player in the carrier sector,” Glen said.
