ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group said it signed a $38 million contract to expand the Global System for Mobile communications network in Jahra and Kuwait City, Kuwait.
The expansion project for Mobile Telecommunications Co. will improve in-building coverage and increase its network capacity to enable the system to support more than 200,000 subscribers, said Motorola CIG.
The current digital cellular system was deployed by Motorola in November 1994 to serve 50,000 subscribers. This is the fourth expansion of the network.
