SAN MATEO, Calif.-AvantGo Inc., a mobile computing software company, introduced AvantGo Web Client and AvantGo Desktop, software, which extends enterprise applications to handheld computers.
AvantGo software expands the reach of corporate intranets and the Web to handheld devices, including the 3Com PalmPilot organizer and WindowsCE-compatible handheld personal computers, said the company.
AvantGo said its software offers an “enterprise on the go” solution that simplifies internal communications using corporations’ existing intranets. Employee directories, price lists, inventory and other corporate data can be transferred to a handheld device and carried anywhere, added the company.
