STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson built the first phase of Cable & Wireless Panama’s digital Advanced Mobile Phone Service network infrastructure as part of a projected five-year investment in that company, said Ericsson. To support the expanding business in Panama, Ericsson has established Ericsson de Panama S.A.
The D-AMPS network, operating in the 800 MHz frequency band, will allow Cable & Wireless to offer advanced services such as personal communications services, short messaging, wireless office services and wireless Internet access.
Ericsson also supplied AXE switching equipment to expand Cable & Wireless’ fixed network in Panama, said the company.
