INTERDIGITAL CUTS WORK FORCE BY 17%

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-InterDigital Communications Corp. has reduced its work force by 17 percent and has restructured its operations to reduce spending and focus on the commercialization of its broadband Code Division Multiple Access technology, the company announced.

“To reach our long-term growth goals, we will reduce our overall level of spending by about 20 percent,” said Harry Campagna, chairman for InterDigital. “At the same time, we will allocate a greater portion of our resources to the introduction, this year, of our new B-CDMA wireless local loop system and the further development of our technology for other applications and markets. By doing so, we expect to move toward profitable growth.”
