AERIAL SEEKS MARK FOR BILLING METHOD

CHICAGO-Aerial Communications Inc. announced it applied to have its True Per-Second Billing service registered as a federal service mark.

Saying it is one of the pioneering companies of per-second billing, Aerial wants to safeguard the distinction in the competitive marketplace.

“A handful of other carriers bill by the second, but only after customers are automatically charged for the first minute,” said Gerald Rhodes, vice president of marketing and sales for Aerial. “At Aerial, we charge customers by the second, but only for what they say. We believe we’re the only telecommunications company in the country that does that.”
