CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Glenayre and Unicom China Paging Corp. have launched the third phase of Unicom’s nationwide paging network in China, the companies announced in a ceremony at Unicom’s office in Xiamen.
Located in Fujian province, Xiamen is the first of 21 cities that Unicom plans to launch high-speed paging services in by the end of the month. Glenayre is providing complete FLEX-based 280 MHz paging systems for all 21 cities. The project stems from a total of $6.2 million in contracts Glenayre received from Unicom between June and September.
