Since many carriers have not launched service yet, company rankings are based on total population base. Information was obtained from the companies and from PCS auction results.

Fortunet Communications L.P. is the result of a merger of C-block licenses belonging to Aer Force Communications L.P., Fortunet Wireless Communications L.P., High Country Communications L.P., New England Wireless Communications L.P. and Southeast Wireless. Century Personal Access Network Inc. has acquired MVI Corp. Western Wireless Inc.’s acquisition of Triad Cellular only included cellular properties. PhillieCo L.P., which operates under the name and management of Sprint PCS, was listed separately because of its ownership structure.
