DALLAS-In a move the company said would better position it for future competition, PageMart Wireless Inc. announced a reorganization in its executive management structure last week.
Ross Buckenham, formerly executive vice president of narrowband personal communications services, was named the company’s new president, replacing John Beletic, who will remain in his positions as chairman and chief executive officer.
Also, Doug Kramp, previously executive vice president of PageMart’s national retail business unit, assumed the title of executive vice president of strategic business units.
As president, Buckenham will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, with a primary emphasis on meeting performance projections and adding shareholder value. His promotion marks the next step in PageMart’s commitment to NPCS in terms of building out the company’s NPCS licenses.
“We’ve always contended that NPCS was a big, big part of our future,” said Clay Myers, chief financial officer at PageMart. “I think it does say that narrowband is going to be a major focus of the company in the years to come.”
With this responsibility removed from his job description, Beletic will focus more on creating greater stockholder value through review of acquisition and new market growth opportunities, communication with the financial community and involvement in regulatory and legislative issues.
