LAKE CHARLES, La.-US Unwired, an operating partner in C-block winner Meretel Communications, launched service in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, La., and Beaumont, Texas. The basic trading areas launched cover more than 1.5 million people.
US Unwired also is the operating partner in D-, E- and F-block winner Mercury Mobility, and it expects to launch its Lake Charles, La., F-block license before the end of the year, said the company. That market will add 260,000 pops.
