TIA ISSUES SUPPORT FOR IS-136 DCC

WASHINGTON-The Telecommunications Industry Association announced it published a new interim standard protocol called Intersystem Operations Support for the IS-136 Digital Control Channel.

The document recommends giving networking support to systems and mobile stations built according to the TIA/EIA/Industry Standard-136 (Time Division Multiple Access technology) and IS-136-A air interface specifications and the digital control channel functions for the 800 MHz and 1800 MHz hyperbands, in particular.

Additionally, the specification identifies the necessary Stage 1 descriptions to support basic roaming and handoff scenarios, adds service descriptions to the TIA/EIA-644 standard and adds functionality to the subsections of IS-41-C covering handoffs, roaming, signaling protocols and procedures.

It can be obtained from Global Engineering Documents.
