TRANSCRYPT SELLS 4.5M NEW SHARES

NEW YORK-Transcrypt International Inc., a Lincoln, Neb., designer and manufacturer of information security products for land mobile radio telephony, last Wednesday sold an add-on offering of 4.5 million shares of stock priced at $21 each.

The deal size was increased significantly above the 4 million shares originally planned for sale.

Furman Selz Inc., New York, was lead underwriter for the secondary stock offering.

Transcrypt went public in January with an initial sale of 2.9 million shares of common stock priced at $8 each. In August, Transcrypt completed its $12.4 million purchase of the privately held E.F. Johnson Co., Waseca, Minn., which designs and manufactures wireless communications products for the LMR market.
