Boston Communications Group Inc. signed a corporate agreement with Sprint Spectrum L.P. to provide wireless roaming services to personal communications services customers roaming within Sprint PCS’ coverage areas. Boston’s Roamerplus service allows non-Sprint PCS subscribers traveling within the Sprint PCS network to place calls with a credit card, calling card or by calling collect. Boston provides call processing services, prepaid wireless services, teleservices, prepaid and voice systems to wireless telephone carriers.

IsoQuantic Technologies announced its PCS1900 BSC call processing software has been deployed into Third Kentucky Cellular’s Wireless 2000 personal communications services system by AirNet Communications Corp. The integration was part of a long-term design and development contract that also had IQ Tech developing the company’s AirNet PCS1900 BSS call processing software architecture.

Standard & Poor Corp. assigned a B- rating to the Iridium L.L.C./Iridium Capital Corp. jointly issued $300 million 11.25 percent senior notes due July 15, 2005. At the same time, the rating company also affirmed Iridium’s other ratings of a B- for senior unsecured debt, B corporate credit rating and a AA bank loan rating guaranteed by Motorola Inc. Iridium L.L.C. is a low-earth-orbit satellite company expected to have a 66-satellite global wireless system operational by next September.

UniSite Inc. said it completed a bulk site agreement with Omnipoint Communications Inc. to construct and lease 300 or more antenna sites to be used by Omnipoint and subsequently made available for collocation. According to the terms of the agreement, UniSite will acquire, zone and construct the site infrastructure and lease each site to Omnipoint, which will serve as the anchor tenant. UniSite will construct each site to facilitate collocation, said the company. UniSite said it has expanded its business operations to include build-to-suit and leaseback offerings, a change that contributed to its selection by Omnipoint. “We’ve examined UniSite’s mix of products, and we like it,” said Omnipoint Chief Executive Officer George Schmitt. “Given our aggressive service delivery goals, coupled with UniSite’s lease-ready national site inventory and its new direction and operational capabilities, this strategic partnership makes sense.”

Ameritel Communications Inc. completed a definitive agreement with Sun Television and Appliances Inc., which calls for Ameritel to provide cellular services to consumers through Sun retail locations. Ameritel, a wholly owned subsidiary of USCI Inc., will manage and bill customers that purchase Ameritel-branded service at Sun retail outlets. The contract encompasses 23 retail locations in Ohio and Kentucky. Service is expected to be launched during the fourth quarter.
