Tectonic Engineering Consultants P.C. named Robert E. Lister a supervising engineer, with responsibility for the structural design and analysis of buildings, infrastructure projects and wireless communication facilities. A licensed professional engineer, Lister most recently was responsible for the construction buildout of NextWave Telecom Inc.’s personal communications services network in New York City. Lister also provided consulting engineering and construction management services to commercial, institutional and municipal clients as president and founder of his own firm. The company also named William B. Mills a supervising engineer. Mills most recently was responsible for the buildout of NextWave’s PCS network in Houston. Before that, Mills worked at Houston Lighting and Power for 20 years where he was responsible for the design, analysis and review of all structures and foundations for transmission, substation and distribution facilities. Mills currently has a patent pending for his design of an antenna platform that mounts above the top of electric utility towers.

Robert M. Curran was named vice president of marketing and sales for AirTouch Cellular’s Southern California region. He will be responsible for overseeing strategic planning, business development, new product and service offerings, marketing communications, public relations, direct and indirect sales activities and retail store operations and merchandising. The company’s Southern California region includes Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Curran has held several executive positions in operations, marketing, sales, engineering and customer care for International Wireless Communications, 3607 Communications Co. and Sprint Corp.

Engineering firm V-Comm announced the addition of Ken Baranowski as director of business development. His duties include developing partnerships with clients, developing new products and services and promoting V-Comm’s core capabilities to the wireless telecommunications industry, government agencies, educational institutions, the local telephone industry and all companies in need of communications engineering and consulting. He also is responsible for V-Comm’s participation in industry, trade and regional associations. For the last 25 years, Baranowski worked for Bell Atlantic Network Services. As a national account manager for carriers marketing and sales, he helped grow revenues by emphasizing core services and exploring new customer opportunities. Baranowski also was responsible for developing the sales, business and technical plans for the personal communications services marketplace as PCS emerged in Bell Atlantic’s operating territories.

American Mobile Satellite Corp. announced the appointment of Paul M. Gremaud to vice president of sales and Mark R. Scott to Western regional manager. With a proven record of success in sales, sales management and business management, Gremaud has spent the last 17 years in the telecommunications industry working for MCI Corp., AT&T Information Systems and Southwestern Bell. Prior to joining AMS, Gremaud was the director of strategic accounts for MCI’s Mid-Atlantic region with responsibility for $500 million in revenue stream, including sales, program structure, employee development, resource sizing and account strategies. Scott joins AMS from SMR Direct, where he served as vice president of sales and marketing for U.S. operations with responsibility for profit and loss, and managing and sales through various channels including direct sales and dealers.
