ESPOO, Finland-Nokia introduced a new handset for the Nordic Mobile Telephone 450 standard, called the Nokia 550, which it touts as the smallest and lightest NMT 450 phone in the market.
The phone features a large graphic display with scalable font size and one-touch voice mail dialing. It resembles most Nokia Global System for Mobile Communications phones and its accessories are compatible with Nokia GSM products. It supports the NMT 450 Plus Short Messaging Service, Real Time Clock, Alarm Calling Line identification and international prefix storage features.
The Nokia 550 also has data fax capabilities when used with a PCMCIA card.
