MOTOROLA LMPS SIGNS SFO CITY

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Motorola’s Land Mobile Products Sector announced it signed a $38 million, 10-year contract with the city of San Francisco to provide a digital 800 MHz trunked radio communications system.

The system is part of the city’s planned upgrade to a new enhanced 911 system. Motorola said it will install its Astro Smartnet II system to consolidate nine city department systems-such as police, fire department and public health-into one. It’s 46 Centracom gold Elite consoles are planned to provide dispatch capabilities and traffic management.
