TULSA, Okla.-Southwestern Bell Wireless launched its 1900 MHz Time Division Multiple Access network in Tulsa, Okla., the first time TDMA has been commercially available at 1900 MHz in the United States, the company said. The company is calling the service Digital PCS.

The handsets offered with the service allow customers to make calls on both personal communications services and cellular systems by automatically switching between digital and analog radio frequencies. The home calling area runs from Tulsa to Oklahoma City to Dallas and includes much of Arkansas.
