MESSAGING SERVICE DESIGNED FOR ORYX

WILMINGTON, Mass.-Priority Call Management has introduced a short messaging service application to its Oryx platform.

Priority said its SMS application provides one number, prepaid calling and enhanced messaging short messages to digital handsets. It allows subscribers to access caller ID and name, prepaid balance, available talk time, message inventory and text messages, said the company. While several voice mail vendors are adding short messaging service, their functionality is limited to sending inventory messages only, said the company. Priority has partnered with Aldiscon and Sema to interface to their short message centers.

In addition to the SMS option, Priority said it recently added a Signalling System 7 feature for faster call set-up and more reliable connectivity for wireless service providers.
