TORONTO-Clearnet Communications Inc. announced it signed an integrated wireless services roaming agreement with Nextel Communications Inc.
The agreement will allow customers of Clearnet’s Mike network to roam throughout Nextel’s digital network in the United States for the same airtime rate they pay at home. Mike airtime rates typically run at about 20 cents per minute, and all local and long-distance calling is billed in per-second increments.
Clearnet is calling the service Mike Green Card. It will be available in July.
