ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Cellular Infrastructure Group and Tu-Ka Cellular Tokyo are introducing Motorola’s Dynamic Equipment Sharing software on Tu-Ka’s Personal Digital Cellular network. Installation of the DES software was recently completed.

Motorola said this is the world’s first implementation of DES technology on a wireless network. The company said the software substantially reduces the likelihood of busy signals in a cellular network and will enable Tu-Ka to better respond to subscriber usage peaks by dynamically assigning base station resources to the busiest sector, thus meeting changing traffic needs.
