LOS GATOS, Calif.-Metricom Inc. said it is developing a technology designed to increase data speeds on its wireless network. The technology, named Autobahn, will use unlicensed spectrum in the 900 MHz band and the 2.4 GHz band.
Subscribers to the company’s Ricohet networks will have access to data speeds of up to 85 kilobits per second when the system is deployed next year, Metricom said.
