DSP MAKES PACT TO SUPPLY KENWOOD

CUPERTINO, Calif. – DSP Communications Inc. signed a strategic agreement to supply Code Division Multiple Access subscriber equipment to Kenwood of Tokyo.

The Interim Standard 95 baseband processor chipsets will be used in Kenwood’s dual-mode CDMA/analog subscriber terminals offering both eight kilobits per second QCELP and EVRC vocoders. The handsets will be used in cellular, personal communications services and wireless local loop applications.

The two companies teamed up several years ago in a similar agreement for the Personal Digital Cellular market in Japan.
