Smith Micro Software Inc. introduced HotPage 2.0, a wireless messaging software that provides message management and transmission to alphanumeric and numeric pagers. The new version supports Windows 95 and Windows NT personal computers that run Exchange, Windows Messaging or Microsoft Outlook platforms.
When subscribers to the service receive and e-mail message, a notification is automatically sent to the user’s pager. Messages can be prioritized by name of sender, or all messages can be held until after an important meeting, the company said. In addition, HotPage’s scheduling feature allow pages to be delivered on specific days at specific times, and a reminder function allows users to program pages to be sent at a particular time each day, week or month.
The product is expected to begin shipping this month with a suggested retail price of $60.
