BANM PREMIERES CDMA IN NEW YORK

ORANGEBURG, N.Y.-Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile launched its DigitalChoice service in New York and New Jersey. The company said the 13-kilobit per second, Code Division Multiple Access cellular system is the first of its kind in the area.

The service is available in the five boroughs of New York City and in portions of Westchester, Rockland and Nassau counties in New York. In New Jersey, the service is available in Union, Hudson, Bergen, Essex, Somerset, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic and Monmouth counties.

Monthly and annual service plans begin at $25 per month. The company said phones are available at its retail outlets for $200 with a one-year agreement.
