The company said its Wireless Echo Canceler delivers echo-free quality on both the mobile and public switched telephone network ends of a call. Centigram Communications Corp. and Priority Call Management Inc. added conferencing capability to Centigram’s MobileManager suite of service applications. MobileManager subscribers can create as large as a nine-party conference call from any telephone without using a third party conferencing service, the company said. Subscribers can create a conference using inbound and outbound dialing, and once in a conference, subscribers can temporarily or permanently drop out of the call to perform other tasks. Subscribers also can pull selected conference participants into a private discussion and then rejoin the original conference. Northern Telecom Inc. introduced two new models to its S2000 family of micro base transceiver stations. The company said the base transceiver stations offer Global System for Mobile communications network operators up to 50 percent reduction in cell site footprint requirements and triple subscriber capacity. The company said the S2000 is well suited for 1900 MHz F-band personal communications services licenses where closely located, high capacity cells are needed to provide sufficient coverage in a limited amount of spectrum. The SmartCell Exchange is the latest in a line of SmartCell private branch exchange systems from Allen Telecom Group Inc. Analog Devices announced three new chipset software products for cellular base stations and Global System for Mobile communications handsets. The Diversity Receiver Chipset is a combination of the company’s dual-channel IF sampling analog-to-digital converter and its dual-channel decimating receiver chip. It can address a variety of air interface standards including GSM, Code Division Multiple Access and Interim Standard 136, as well as proprietary modulation schemes for paging systems and wireless fixed access receivers. The Multi-Channel Wideband Receiver combines a wideband analog-to-digital converter capable of sampling at 65 msps and a decimating receiver chip that enables the same radio to be tuned to different channels and different air interface standards.
