STANDARD TO SHOW WIRELESS MODEM

SAN JOSE, Calif.-Standard Communications Corp.’s Wireless Datacom Division announced it will show its new cellular modem module and cellular radiofrequency module at the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association’s Wireless ’97 trade show in San Francisco this week.

The CMM7600 is designed for use with Cellemetry Data Service, which allows equipment to be managed remotely via cellular networks.

There is high demand among applications developers and users to implement these technologies in vending, alarm detection, package tracking, copier and utility meter reading operations, said Steve Hall, director of Standard’s wireless data division.

Original equipment manufacturers “and developers are looking at both the CMM and CRM to determine the best fit for their system requirements,” added Hall.
